A recipient of the High Point Pinnacle
Award in 1998, Irving Sabo has been with Brookbend since
its inception. An artist trained in architecture and
fine arts, Sabo's furniture designs for the Brookbend
collection embody the perfect fusion of Scandinavian
and Mission styles, touched with a wisp of exquisite
Asian mystique.
As a sculptor Sabo has worked with wood, metals and
acrylics. His experience as a boat builder led to patents
for steam bending and laminating, inspiring new forms
of contemporary furniture. For fifteen years Sabo was Vice President at Ethan Allen. Prior to Ethan Allen he had been the highest paid independent designer in Thomasville’s history. Over 40 years he designed over 200 furniture collections for these two companies. His lifelong concern with organic forms derived from
nature is realized in the Brookbend collection.
Sabo's careful guidance and eye for detail ensures
that every piece in the Brookbend furniture line is
embellished with a smooth, curvaceous and ergonomic
structure making for complete comfort through out the
life of the product and not just for the demonstration
on the showroom floor.
